This one-of-a-kind opportunity blends education with imagination. Your child will:

  • Present a school project or subject they're passionate aboutgether
  • Learn how to turn research and creativity into something sharable and exciting
  • Discover how a video set works (lights, cameras, action!)
  • Help create a skit, segment, or fun moment for YouTube
  • Get a behind-the-scenes look at Granpa Cratchet’s imaginative world
  • Grow in communication skills, confidence, and self-expression

Whether they want to explain how volcanoes erupt or perform their original poem, Granpa will be there to learn right along with them — and maybe toss in a silly joke or two.

Watch for an email from Granpa's team.

Step Three

Once approved, sign the release form and pick a date.

Come to Studio A for your debut with Granpa Cratchet!

Frequently Asked Questions.

Any child  who loves fun, creativity, and learning! While we focus on homeschoolers and 4H clubs, any child that wants to learn and have fun is welcome to apply!

Kids will get to meet Granpa, learn how a video is made, and even appear on camera! Homeschoolers will have the chance to share something they’re learning — like a science project, book report, or topic they’re excited about. They might teach Granpa a fun fact, help with a silly skit, or even do a craft — all in a safe, supervised, and encouraging environment.

All videos are filmed at Studio A, near Kokomo, IN — the home of Granpa Cratchet’s Clubhouse! Directions and details are shared once you’re accepted.

Just click the big red button on the page and fill out the application with a parent. If selected, you’ll receive instructions to sign a release form and choose a taping date.

Absolutely! Parents are welcome to stay and watch the fun unfold. Just no pizza unless you’re planning to share. 😉

Each taping session lasts about 30–60 minutes depending on the role and number of kids in the segment.

Yes! Once edited, the video will be featured on Granpa Cratchet’s YouTube channel and possibly highlighted on our social media. A release form is required for each kid who participates. 

Nope! Being part of Granpa’s Clubhouse is 100% free! Although, Granpa may panhandle for gas money.

Yes! We love having groups — it’s especially perfect for 4-H clubs or homeschool co-ops. Just make sure each child has an individual application and signed release form. We’ll coordinate a special group taping time so everyone can join in on the fun together!
